Florida State University International Program in Florence, Italy

Program Assistant

Overview of my position at FSU Florence

Florida State University has one of the greatest study abroad programs in the country.  After experiencing it from a student's perspective I was eager to work for FSU International Program's Italy location as an employee.

As a Program Assistant, it was my role to act as a liaison between FSU Florence faculty, staff, and international students. This meant communicating important information to the students including rules and regulations (pertaining to COVID-19 and the program as a whole), upcoming events and activities, and advice about life in the city of Florence. I was also in charge of managing a large-scale university residence; this meant I was on-call 24/7 in the case of a student emergency. In my day-to-day, I worked at the front desk of the Florence campus by providing administrative and logistical support to program managers and other team members. Finally, it was my team's responsibility to oversee FSU Florence's digital presence which meant promoting program events, excursions, updates, and activities on multiple social media channels daily.
